What
is EBMAS |
Self Defence
The letters E.B.M.A.S are the abbreviation
of Emin Boztepe Martial Arts System. EBMAS is named after the founder
and Chief Instructor Master
Emin Boztepe and was created
in 2001. In EBMAS the main emphasis is on the self
defence.
The training doesn't look like regular Martial Arts
training. The majority of training takes part with
a partner, where the limbs contact each other.
The training is based on the very practical WT
theories which most of the original Wing Chun
lineages refer to these same principles of WT. However
the important thing for us in EBMAS is to gain
the ability to apply these theories in a self defence
situation and not just to have them in theory(in
mind). According to the Wing Tzun philosophy, the simplest,
easiest and most effective way is the best way.
 |
EBMAS teaches the
student how to use their limbs naturally and according
to their size. By going through partner exercises students
don't just learn but are able to apply the techniques
in real life self defence situations. So, in EBMAS
for us the focus of training is to ensure that
our students understand how each techniques work,
and how the limbs and each muscles
of the body |
help to
move to perform that exact technique. Once the
student starts to experience how to move his/her
limbs in an easy way then all the techniques become
a natural way to move. We believe that by understanding
how the body works in a situation of application,
the student gains a much more valuable skill for
the real life applications. |
With the help of a realistic approach of teaching
every student becomes individually skillful and as
such their individual knowledge gives them the ability
and increased self confidence to apply the movements
if the need arises. We don't believe in the traditional
teaching method where the student needs to move like the
instructor and his/her movement is just a copy of the instructors.
We don't make a difference between an application for a
real life self defence situation or an actual working technique. We
simply teach what works.
EBMAS Street self defence is proven to be the most
effective way of self defence. Students learn to use
their movements very efficiently. In either the street
or the training room, the movements are the same. We train
with a very realistic approach to street situations without
leaving any doubts if it works. Students don't imitate
techniques, they learn to use to apply them. We train ourselves
for self defence and not for competitions or demonstrations.
From the EBMAS training exercises our movements become
very fast and explosive without leaving a second for hesitation
to respond.
Our students find the EBMAS Martial Arts System
fulfills their needs, be it a self defence or a health,
or past time activity.

convinced. Don’t believe me. Well, put away your ego
and find out for yourself. You will need to participate (not
watch) to get a true indication. I guarantee you, you’ll
be challenged like never before. You’ll be confused,
you’ll be amazed but most of all you will be hooked."
